Is condensation on PCA panels normal?
Published the 21 January 2009 | Technical Questions
| The temporary condensation which appears on the PCA panels is a natural phenomenon known to manufacturers (and recognised in technical opinions issued by the CSTB (Scientific and Technical Centre for Construction) concerning products using PCA). PCA fillings (or even domes) cannot form part of a hermetic double glazed unit. The plastic material is slightly porous and it is not possible to produce a joint which is completely watertight to water vapour to seal the cells. This temporary phenomenon (caused by temperature differences) does not impact on mechanical resistance or the quality of the PCA panels. |
