Hexadome, which designs smoke extraction solutions for buildings, has produced the innovative HEXASTEEL DOP foldable windshield, a new double flap smoke ventilator with foldable windshields.

Easier waterproofing.
The straight linear top of the upstand prevents points of weakness from forming in the waterproof membrane and the structure of the device. The standard 300mm high upstand is compatible with a waterproofing membrane with a 150mm thick insulation board. It is also easy to fit a PVC-coated plate or to mechanically attach synthetic membranes to a HEXASTEEL DOP foldable windshield.
Reinforced watertightness
HEXASTEEL DOP foldable windshield features a leak-proof double chamber: the specially designed shape of the opening frame prevents any siphoning and infiltration.
A single light surface
HEXASTEEL DOP foldable windshield has a straight upstand and a slimline central drainage channel, providing project owners with improved light distribution inside buildings. The specified dimensions of the ventilator are equal to the actual light distribution so you can directly calculate the number of skylights you need to comply with the architect’s guidelines or the recommendations of the applicable regulator, such as the Regional Health Insurance Fund (CRAM) in France.

Hexadome creates innovation
High performances which exceed French regulatory requirements.
In its Plus range, HEXASTEEL DOP foldable windshield offers exclusive performance features:
• an Aerodynamic Free Area (AFA) of 4.56m (aerodynamic coefficient of 0.76 for vent dimensions of 200x300mm).
• an Aerodynamic Free Area (AFA) of 5.24 m (aerodynamic coefficient of 0.76 for vent dimensions of 230x300mm).
The double flap HEXASTEEL DOP foldable windshields has passed tests of 1,000 cycles in smoke and heat exhaust configuration; the current regulatory standard only demands 300 cycles.
Fitting and maintenance made easier by the lack of separate raised windshields. Installing the device in a roof requires the assembly of no additional elements. The foldable windshields, delivered assembled, fold down into the upstand and improve the aerodynamic coefficient in safety position. All components fold down into the upstand, making it easier to store and transport the HEXASTEEL DOP foldable windshield.
The foldable windshields can be removed for maintenance, providing rapid access to the operating mechanisms.
